Terms of service

The terms you book under. Written to be read rather than skimmed past, and short enough that reading it is realistic.

Who you are contracting with

Relax Mobile Massage is a mobile massage service operating in Bangkok under the laws of Thailand. It is run by an individual proprietor rather than a registered company. Notices and correspondence go to bookings@irelaxmassage.com, and we will give the registered details to anyone with a legitimate legal need for them.

Where these terms say we, us or our, that means Relax Mobile Massage. Where they say you, that means the person making the booking, who is also the person responsible for paying for it.

What the service is

We send a licensed massage therapist to an address you nominate, and she carries out a treatment there. She brings the linen, the towels and the oil. You provide the room.

The treatment is a massage. It is not medical treatment, physiotherapy or a diagnosis, and nothing a therapist says should be taken as medical advice. If you have a condition that needs treating, see a doctor.

How a booking is made

Bookings are made by message or phone, on WhatsApp, LINE or the number on the contact page. There is no booking form on this website and nothing is reserved automatically.

A booking exists once we have confirmed it to you in writing with a treatment, a time and a price. Until that confirmation, nothing is agreed. The confirmation is also the record of what was agreed: if a figure ever differs from it, the confirmation is the one that stands.

You must be 18 or over to book. Bookings for a third party are allowed, but we need a contact number for whoever will actually be present.

Price and payment

Treatment prices are as published on the price list and do not vary by district, building or hour of the day. A transportation support fee applies to addresses beyond seven kilometres and is included in the total quoted at booking. There is no minimum spend and no surcharge for booking at night.

Nothing is taken when you book and no deposit is held. Payment is due to the therapist when the treatment has finished, in cash, by card or by PromptPay.

Tipping is entirely optional and never expected. Where a tip is given it goes to the therapist.

Health, and when we will decline

You must tell us about anything relevant to your health when you book. That includes recent surgery, a healing wound, blood-thinning medication, uncontrolled blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis, a recent fall, heart conditions, pregnancy and any current course of treatment.

None of these things automatically prevent a treatment. Most of them change it: lighter pressure, a different technique, or avoiding one area of the body. Telling us in advance means the right therapist arrives with the right plan.

The therapist may adapt the treatment or decline to carry it out. That judgement is hers and it is final. She may also decline where a customer is heavily intoxicated, since pressure feedback stops being reliable and the risk of injury rises.

Where a treatment does not proceed because something was not disclosed, the cancellation policy applies.

What you need to provide

A private room with a door, a bed, and somewhere for the therapist to wash her hands. Every treatment is worked on your bed, traditional Thai included, so the room needs only enough space to stand alongside the bed and nothing needs clearing before she arrives.

Access to the building is your responsibility. Where a building requires a visitor to be signed in, called up or met at a gate, that is for you to arrange. We do not know and do not publish the access rules of hotels or private buildings.

Conduct

This is a professional treatment carried out by a licensed therapist, usually working alone in a stranger’s room. Customers are expected to behave accordingly.

A therapist may stop a treatment and leave at any point if she is uncomfortable or if a customer behaves inappropriately. She does not need to explain the decision, the full price remains payable, and we will decline any future booking from that customer.

This works in both directions. If a therapist behaves in a way that falls short of that standard, tell us and we will deal with it properly. Complaints of that kind go to the front of the queue.

Liability

We are responsible for carrying out the treatment with reasonable skill and care. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

We are not responsible for a reaction to an oil where a relevant allergy was not disclosed, for aggravation of a condition that was not disclosed, or for loss arising because a building refused access to the therapist.

Some soreness for a day or two after deep tissue work is normal rather than a fault. If you are in real pain, tell us and we will take it seriously.

If something goes wrong

Tell us as soon as you can, on the channel you booked on. We would much rather hear about a problem the same night than read about it later.

We will respond, investigate and say what we are doing about it. Where we got something wrong we will put it right, which depending on the situation means re-doing the treatment, refunding it or both.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Thailand and the courts of Thailand have jurisdiction. Your rights as a consumer under Thai law are unaffected by anything written here.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when the booking was confirmed, and the date at the top of this page says when it last changed. Material changes will not be applied retrospectively to a booking already made. Questions go to WhatsApp or the contact page.

Questions about any of this go to the same place as everything else. See contact, or read the terms, privacy policy and cancellation policy.
